Steve has accomplished numerous things in his career, and was included in the hockey news top 50 players of all time. Who can argue with that? The past two seasons this captain has led his Wings to the Stanley Cup Championship, last year he won the Conn Smythe trophy for playoff MVP. And who will forget that memorable goal against St. Louis a few years back. Steve is a complete player, gives it his all every night, and I wouldn't doubt a three peat coming to Hockeytown USA, because of our Canadian boy.
Without a doubt Yzerman is one of the most underrated players in the NHL, he has faced lots of adversity, but he continues to garner the admiration of hockey fans everywhere. He is a gifted athlete, and off the ice he is well known for his modesty and kindness towards the fans and his teammates. He also gives up some of his time to help the less fortunate. However you say it, he is just a great guy and a great ambassador for the game.
